Before diving into the many ways to exercise with your pup, be sure to make sure that your dog can handle each exercise. Use what you know about your dog’s health and research before partaking in certain activities.
Exercising with your dog is easy and also fun! Your dog can be a great exercise partner. For starters, grab your pup’s leash and take a light jog around the block to get some cardio workout. If running isn’t your style, you can always just take your dog for a nice, long walk instead. Hiking is another great way to to exercise with your furry friend alongside a scenic view. Some even cycle alongside their dogs!
If your dog is up for it, swimming is another fun and beneficial way to play with your pup. Taking a nice trip to the lake (or even a backyard pool) will give you and your dog some time to shape up just by swimming around and playing. Swimming will help build strength in both you and your dog’s hearts and lungs.
Another way to exercise with our dogs is a popular past-time for both canines and humans alike, frisbee! Take a little trip to the park and toss around a frisbee on a nice day. And of course, there is always fetch. When in doubt…play fetch to keep you and your dog moving!
Exercising with your dog will not only keep you both in shape, but it will help you live a longer and healthier life. Your bond with your beloved dog will continuously grow as you two exercise together. So what are you waiting for? Go grab that pup and get moving. Your body will thank you…and your dog will too!
